Wednesday, October 912:00—2:00 PMCommunity Room Weston Public Library87 School Street, Weston, MA, 02493
The Brazilian Pantanal is a vast wetland, much of it given over to cattle ranches, some of whom are now working to conserve the natural habitats and local wildlife. The speaker, Moira Yip, has been there twice . Her talk will focus on her 2023 trip where she visited different teams of researchers working with giant jaguars, giant armadillos, tapirs, and hyacinth macaws. She will also talk about conservation efforts and threats such as wildfires.
