This documentary by Thomas Riedelsheimer offers a glimpse into the creative realm of environmental artist Andy Goldsworthy. A keen observer of place and season, his dexterity with wood, stone, water, and time evoke comparisons to a Neolithic mason or a medieval thatcher—even an itinerant sorcerer—as some of his pieces take on a life of their own. Goldsworthy is entirely aware of the tenuousness of some of his projects, and we see the frustrations that go with that process, but many of his pieces have a staying power that astounds—resulting in a film that is both meditative and suspenseful.
Please Note--This film is RATED TV-G, with thick Scots accents and some profanity (inherent to gravity-defying weaving and cairn building).
