Catch Me If You Can

2002, 141 minutes

Loosely based on the larcenous exploits of Frank W. Abagnale, this film by Steven Speilberg glories in the tone and temper of the mid-sixties––especially in how it evokes the golden age of air travel. Leonardo DiCaprio shines as Abagnale and much is made about how young he was when he embarked on his spree of fraud, posing as an airline pilot, a doctor, and a lawyer. But Tom Hanks’ dogged FBI man is not far behind––untangling Abagnale’s various scams as he chases him across the world, with the two men having more in common than either want to admit. At turns hilarious and heartbreaking, the film offers a buoyant musical score by John Williams and excellent supporting performances by Christopher Walken and Nathalie Baye who play Abagnale’s floundering father and restless mother.

Please Note--This film is RATED PG-13 with smoking, drinking, profanity, sexuality, infidelity, identity theft and other forms of grand larceny while flying the friendly skies.
