As a companion piece to the documentary RGB, this solid biopic stars Felicity Jones as Ruth Bader Ginsburg in two crucial periods of her life. The first part is set in 1956 when she was attending Harvard and then Columbia Law Schools, graduating at the top of her class––only to be denied employment at the all-male law firms of the period. The second part jumps forward to 1970, when she and her husband appealed a tax case on the grounds of gender bias against a man to set a precedent for overturning the layers of entrenched sexist legal code.
