Little Women

2019, 135 minutes

Starting in 1933, when George Cukor directed Katharine Hepburn as Jo, almost every generation since has seen a screen version of Louisa May Alcott’s coming-of-age tale. This most recent adaptation by Greta Gerwig stars an amazing cast with Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Emma Watson, and Eliza Scanlen as the March Sisters, and Laura Dern as their mother.

Set in Civil-War era Concord, the family struggles to make do while their father is fighting for the Union, and the sisters play, squabble and learn about life, death and boys in the form of Timothée Chalamet.

Please Note--This film is RATED PG, with smoking, drinking, sisterly brawling, mortality, Victorian-era mores and morals, a fall through the ice, and Fruitlands in Harvard, MA posing as 1860s Concord.
