Weston AIC: Photo Organizing and Editing

Wednesday, April 610:00 AM—12:00 PMWeston AICWeston Art and Innovation Center356 Boston Post Road, Weston, MA, 02493

Abode’s Photography Plan, which includes Photoshop and Lightroom, is the most popular image editing suite used by professional designers and photographers. Although these are large, complex programs, this 5-session workshop will give you an introduction to a subset of features that will allow you to get started doing productive work without feeling overwhelmed. The skills we will cover include learning strategies for organizing large volumes of photos, improving the lighting and color of an image, touching up a portrait, removing unwanted objects or spots from a photo, lifting an object out of a photo for reuse, making composites by combining multiple images together, and adding text and graphics to an image. You will have assignments to complete after each class to practice the skills covered in each session. Computers with the most recent version of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom will be provided. Lab time at the AIC to complete assignments is included as part of the fee. The workshop is appropriate for those who have never used Photoshop or Lightroom before, but participants should have basic computer skills such as opening and saving files, copying and pasting between documents, and using the right mouse button to select menu commands.
