Meet the AIC’s laser cutter! Laser cutters are incredible tools for any maker. You can make everything from simple boxes to highly detailed engravings and complex 3-dimensional puzzles.

Who uses laser cutting technology? Artists, architects, manufacturers, robotics engineers, and small business owners. You can cut extremely accurate objects out of materials like wood, leather, colored acrylic, and even felt or paper. These powerful machines can make your projects lightning fast and repeatable.

In this certification class, participants:

• Learn how to safely operate a laser cutter to cut and engrave wood.
• Are introduced to Lightburn software.
• Create a customized wood keychain to bring home.

Upon completion of this class, students are permitted to use the laser cutter under supervision during AIC Open Maker Hours.

During this special laser cutter event that doubles as a certification, you will get to cut a set of up to 6 custom laser cut garden stakes. Make them large for your vegetable patch or miniature for your windowsill herb garden!
