During this three session workshop, Kathy Aluia teaches the foundations of quilting.

This is a ruler-free, pattern-free, judgement-free basic quilting class for beginners and sewers of all experience levels hoping to experiment with a more improvisational approach:

• Learn hand- and machine-sewing construction techniques, quilting methods, and binding, plus clever shortcuts and efficiency tips.
• Explore and play with color theory and relationships, composition, and improvisation.
• Work with 100% cotton solid fabrics.
• Discuss methods for finishing projects based on completed size.
• Students purchase a Materials Kit from the instructor; an additional supply list (anticipated cost $25-$50) is provided during the first class.
