In this two-part series, class participants explore multiple art media to alter a hard cover book using a theme that inspires them, using several traditional altered-book techniques -- such as doors, windows, secret messages, cavities, and hidden drawers -- which transform a book into a piece of art. The pages are a canvas, as class participants change the shape, color and even structure of the books into interesting visual journeys through imagination.  Click on this link to see the list of suggested materials.
