This class is geared for the complete beginner who has had little or no experience in watercolor, with multiple step-by-step demonstrations in every class and individual attention if needed.

Participants work on small paintings to explore a number of skill-building exercises, including:

• How much water-to-pigment to use to create tints, glazes and deep dark tones
• An introduction to color mixing
• The main 3 washes
• Dry brush, sgraffito, spattering, and lifting out techniques
• Making objects feel 3-dimensional (value and form)

Images and line drawings are provided via email before class.
