Peter Shaw grew up in Weston in the forties and fifties. He did oil painting in high school and college, then put down his brush to live and work in Africa and New York, returning to the Boston area to begin a career in medical education at Boston Medical Center and the Boston University School of Medicine. He resumed his pursuit of art fifteen years ago, this time as a watercolorist. For several years, he studied with GaryTucker at the Kaji Aso Studio, Boston. He has taken numerous workshops with well- known artists, including Alvaro Castagnet, Eric Wiegart, Thomas Schaller, Iain Stewart, and Tony Couch. He is a member of the Dedham Art Association, Newton Watercolor Society, New England Watercolor Society, and American Watercolor Society. He has exhibited in many group and solo shows locally.
