Anjana Bhargava began her artistic journey as a young girl, making sketches of the diverse beauty of the houses in her neighborhood, experimenting with Henna art, and creating landscapes of oil on canvas. She expanded her artistic pursuits to working with different mediums, including watercolors, acrylics, colored pencils, and traditional wood-burning.

A Weston resident, Anjana has been learning Mithila art (also called "Madhubani") for several years, studying with her guru Sunanda Sahay, an Acton resident. She is currently pursuing a two-year Apprentice Program funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC). Anjana’s art has been exhibited extensively in various sites, including galleries, the MGH cancer center, libraries, the Council of Aging, and Museum of Fine Art. She has received awards and accolades for her artworks, including the Lokvani Award.
