Local nature photographer Barbara Peskin will share her work in the library’s Community Room and gallery. Barbara is a local photographer who has exhibited in Concord, Lincoln, and Stow. She is a member of the Sudbury Valley Nature Photographers. A self-taught photographer and a birder, she is constantly learning to improve her craft and making new connections with the nature around us.
A statement from the artist: “Through my photography, I share moments that celebrate nature and wildlife. My work includes photography from a puffin colony that finds home in the summer on Machias Seal Island in the international waters off Maine and Canada. I also find special moments here in Lincoln, Concord and surrounding areas. In this exhibit, look for photos that include a barred owl, young great blue herons nesting in a tree high above the marsh at Mt. Misery in Lincoln, and a young coyote exploring at a tree’s base. You will also meet wood ducks, warblers migrating through Plum Island, and winter birds at Ipswich River Wildlife Refuge.
I enjoy the part of the photographic process that plays on the patience to let nature unfold as you listen and watch. I share pictures that come unexpectedly in quiet moments. It is my hope that my photos will inspire you to look for your own magical moments in nature.”
