Cécile Ganne is a French contemporary landscape artist born in France and based in Boston. She grew up painting with her maternal grandmother in the Dordogne Valley of Southern France, but it was not until she was diagnosed with cancer that she returned to her brushes with renewed vigor and a newly found sense of life.

She often paints during the dreamlike, “in-between” ephemeral moments of the day, moments of waiting and anticipation. In her re-imagined oil landscapes, her work aims to capture the fleeting of daily life and the memories of the sense of place and belonging.

Her work is represented by Three Stones Gallery and Sun Studios in Concord, MA and resides in private collections in the United States, France, and the United Kingdom. A member of the Sowa Guild of Artists, she welcomes the public to her studio #318 on a weekly basis. When she does not paint, she’s a Lecturer of French and Director of the French House at Wellesley College.
